Appointments

All weekday surgeries are by appointment. Appointments may be requested by telephone, in person, or by using our On-Line Service. A small number of same day appointments are normally available otherwise a routine appointment or a telephone triage call from the GP/Nurse will be offered to assess by telephone to determine if an emergency appointment is required.

Please note our receptionist will ask for brief details of the problem. This is to ensure you are allocated to the correct person, and to provide the clinician with an indication of the concern to be discussed at your appointment. This allows the clinician to ensure any information relating to the appointment is available ie test results etc.

Please ensure when asking for a return call that we have the correct telephone number and that you will be available to receive the call. We are unable to be specific in detailing the time the GP will call.

For more information and to register for our On-Line Appointment, Repeat Prescription, and Access to medical records please collect a registration form from the surgery. If you need assistance or wish to discuss this service please contact us.

Please arrive promptly for your appointment, the receptionist will not be able to book you in if you arrive ten minutes after your scheduled appointment time. A ten-minute appointment allows the clinician to deal with one area of concern, if you have a number of issues to discuss please advise the receptionist who will book you a longer appointment. You should not bring another person with you for a separate consultation during your appointment.

The clinicians respect your time, and endeavour not to keep you waiting too long. However, emergencies will arise and have to be given priority on occasions. We hope that you will understand if you are inconvenienced. If you are not seen within 20 minutes please make contact with the receptionist who may be able to update you.

You can use our On-Line Service to cancel appointments. We have a ‘Touch Screen’ booking in system, so when you arrive, please use this to let us know that you have arrived.
